Grupo Antolin is committed to the sustainability of its events
Grupo Antolin, one of the largest manufacturers of vehicle interiors in the world, wants its conventions and most important internal meetings to become sustainable events as part of its strategic commitment to sustainability. The goal is to strengthen the company's commitment to social and economic development and respect for the environment.
This initiative is part of Grupo Antolin's Sustainability Master Plan, which aims to promote a sustainable culture among its employees and its value chain.
The first sustainable event of Grupo Antolin was the company's Annual Convention, which included more than 65 environmental, social, economic and governance actions. The slogan of the Convention was Imagine. Innovation for a sustainable success, so sustainability was one of the topics of the event.
The measures to reduce environmental impact included the replacement of paper documents with digital formats as well as the reuse of infrastructure and materials. The initiatives included a suitable waste management throughout the entire value chain and lower consumption of energy and water. Walking and the using shared car were promoted to achieve more sustainable mobility.
As part of the environmental measures, Grupo Antolin will support an environmental project that will reduce or absorb 291 tons of CO2, which is the equivalent of offsetting the carbon dioxide emissions generated by the Annual Convention. It will sponsor the planting of trees on an area of about one hectare in Spain. Thanks to an innovative methodology, which uses intelligent seeds launched from drones, the company will contribute to an efficient reforestation process and to the fight against climate change.
From the social point of view, the Annual Convention of Grupo Antolin ensured full accessibility to the event and encouraged the hiring of staff following principles of diversity and equal opportunities and non-discrimination. In addition, the cultural, religious and nutritional needs of the attendees were taken into account in order to adapt the agenda and the different menus.
The event achieved a positive socio-economic impact in Burgos, 83% of the suppliers were local using only local and seasonal products. The event also promoted the local cultural heritage. 320 people from 24 countries attended the event. In total, the attendees made 195 reservations for accommodation and hired 47 rental cars.
In order to maximize their results, the implementation of the different measures was carried out with the collaboration of the management team and all the people and suppliers who, directly and indirectly, contributed to the holding of this event.
