Grupo Antolin has its most charitable Christmas yet

  • This 22nd edition of the Grupo Antolin Children's Drawing Competition has attracted a record level of participation for this competition, with 1,526 children taking part.
  • For the fifth year running, Grupo Antolin has worked with Unicef through the initiative “A drawing = A smile”, raising a total of €11,000.
  • The prize-giving ceremony was attended by more than 400 people where those attending each contributed a kilogram of sugar to help the Burgos Food Bank.


Burgos, December 16, 2016- Once again this year, for the 22nd time, the children of the employees of Grupo Antolin have taken part in its traditional Christmas Children's Drawing Competition. The main theme was the integration of the Canadian firm Magna Interiors (a company acquired by Grupo Antolin in 2015). Records have fallen this year with entries being received from 1,526 children, all of them sons and daughters of the more than 28,000 employees of the company in 26 countries.

Through their drawings the children have shown the adults how they see the company in which their parents work.

This year charity has taken on a starring role for Grupo Antolin which has managed to raise €11,000 to be donated to Unicef for the "A drawing = A smile" initiative. This sum was raised by the Group donating €7 for each drawing received and on this occasion the money raised will be used to purchase an electric blanket for 1,560 other children to protect them from the cold. In this way each child, through their drawing, can help turn the premise "A drawing = A smile" into reality.

Grupo Antolin has also wanted to provide more local support and has taken part in the Burgos Food Bank's campaign to collect food through a proposal which consisted in each person voluntarily bringing a kilogram of sugar to the prize-giving ceremony. This was a way of sweetening Christmas for the families of Burgos who are having a difficult time and also raising awareness in the children about what is happening close to hand.

The prize-giving ceremony was held on December 16 in the assembly hall of the head office of the company in Burgos. Javier Blanco, Director of Human Resources for Grupo Antolin, was responsible for welcoming everyone and thanked Pilar Arribas, a shareholder of Grupo Antolin, and Jesús Pascual, CEO of the company, for coming. They, together with José Luis Herrero, in his role as President of the Burgos Food Bank, handed out the prizes in the two categories: A (aged 5 to 7) and B (aged 8 to 11).

In category A, the international winners have been: Hugo Ariel Jaime Ortiz from Grupo Antolin-Silao (Mexico); Šimon Vojtěch from Grupo Antolin-Turnov (Czech Republic); Raol Divyaba from Grupo Antolin-Sanand (India) and Dylan Breton from Grupo Antolin-Jarny (France). In category B: Karolina Citovická from Grupo Antolin-Bratislava (Czech Republic); S.Manicka Meenakshi from Grupo Antolin-Chennai (India); Lidia Núñez from Grupo Antolin-Ingenieria (Spain) and Andrea Magaly from Antolin Arteaga (Mexico).

The first prize was a weekend away to a theme park for three people. The second was a fully equipped bicycle; third, a music system; and lastly, fourth prize was a digital camera. Grupo Antolin wanted to reward with a gift to all the participants by the drawings received
