Grupo Antolin maintains its growth in the third quarter
The sales of Grupo Antolin during the third quarter of 2016 came to €1,230 million, which represents an increase of 50.3% compared to the same period last year.
This revenue was driven mainly by the acquisition of Magna’s interiors division (without which growth would have been 4.7%) and the contribution of the new plants, especially Tlaxcala in Mexico. At the same time, however, these figures were negatively affected by the appreciation of the euro against other currencies.
The company’s geographical diversity allows it to anticipate a certain slowdown in the growth rate of the automotive market worldwide. In this respect, markets such as Brazil and Russia are not showing signs of recovery, while other more consolidated ones such as NAFTA have witnessed slower growth compared to the same period last year.
Grupo Antolin’s margins are slightly down from the same period last year. The company has maintained a clear focus on containing costs as one of the main ways to guarantee its competitiveness.
In terms of business units, sales increased in every segment apart from headliners. This slowdown is due to lower production of certain models for the German, French and North American markets.
Over this third quarter, Grupo Antolin witnessed the launch of several models. These included the Audi Q5, Citroën C3 and Skoda Kodiaq.
